How long does it take for gym ads to start getting leads?

Social Mulli · Updated September 22, 2026

The short answer

Leads usually start in the first week. Real patterns, like which ad and audience bring in people who actually join, take three to four weeks to read. Anyone promising 100 new members in 30 days is lying.

Week one

Once the campaign is live, the first leads typically come in within days. Early leads tell you the ad is reaching people. They do not yet tell you which version is best.

Weeks two to four

This is when the data starts to mean something. With multiple ads and audiences running side by side, the winners separate from the losers. Winners get more budget, losers get paused, and creative gets refreshed before people tune it out.

What to do while you wait

  • Follow up with every lead fast. Speed to lead is the single biggest lever in fitness marketing.
  • Track which leads actually book, show up, and join, not just how many came in.
  • Keep the offer steady long enough to learn from it. Changing everything every few days resets the read.

Red flags

  • Promises like "fill your gym in 30 days." No agency can do that honestly.
  • Reports full of impressions and likes but no cost per lead.
  • Long contracts that lock you in before you have seen a single month of results.
